For makers & studios
Your work, in the room it was made for.
Hano is built to send the right person to your work: by name, in a room, because it belongs there, not because it ranked. It reads a person's taste first, so the one who reaches you already fits. Not a grid. Not a SKU.
A maker's chair The landscape
Your best piece deserves better than a grid.
A considered piece rarely loses on merit — it loses on the format. In a grid of a hundred thumbnails, or a search that rewards ad spend and sheer catalog size, a shopper has no way to see why yours is the one. The room that would make it make sense is nowhere in sight.
Hano isn't a grid, and it isn't a marketplace. It reads a person's taste and recommends the pieces that genuinely fit them, in a room, with a reason.
Your work, shown when it's right.
What partnering means
An eye on your side.
Our vision is a place that uncovers and celebrates the artisans and makers our clients could never have found on their own.
Customers arrive with intent
By the time someone reaches your piece, Hano will have read their taste. They come to it because it fits them, placed in a room and explained, not because they were handed a feed.
The right piece, not the biggest budget
Hano recommends what fits the customer, not what paid to rank or shouts the loudest. A studio no one's heard of and a household name are weighed the same way: is this the right piece for this person? For good work that never gets found, that's exposure you couldn't buy.
Named, never anonymous
Your work is named, sourced, and linked every time it appears. (Nothing appears here without permission.)
A recommendation, not an impression
Your piece is put forward when it's genuinely right for someone, shown in the room it belongs in, and explained. Not one more thumbnail to scroll past, but a recommendation a customer already trusts. That's exposure that earns its place.
Editorial, not a listing
The Edit and @thehanoedit_ feature the makers and pieces we love: your story told, not your SKU filed away. A piece of coverage, not a line in a catalog.
You keep the sale
Hano doesn't hold inventory or get between you and your customer. We recommend and link; the order, the fulfillment, and the relationship stay yours. We work from your existing catalog, nothing new to adopt.
Named, on your say-so
Every piece, credited by name.
The names stay blanked here on purpose. We won't show anyone's work without permission. Partner with Hano and yours goes live: named, linked, and sent the right customer.
Who it's for
Independent studios, furniture makers, vintage dealers and galleries, design-led labels, and established brands alike. If you make pieces worth recommending, and you'd rather they be understood than scrolled past, we should talk. We care about one thing: the right piece for the person.
We're composing our first rooms now. The makers who join early help shape what Hano shows, and are the first work people see when the door opens.
Who's behind it
Hano is a Los Angeles design practice, built by Charlie Barstein, an interior designer with a decade of work including years at the AD100 firm Commune Design, and Andrew Janatka, who has spent a decade building software that pays attention to the people who use it. The standards that shape the rooms are set by that eye, piece by piece, and everything Andrew built exists to keep them intact. Your work would be in good company.
